Paradise Point Resort & Spa

Paradise Point Resort & Spa

Are you thinking about staying at the Paradise Point Resort & Spa in San Diego? Are you wondering whether it’s worth dishing out the extra cash to stay at this lush resort or would like to know more about the resort facilities and what the rooms are like? Then keep reading to see an honest review on our recent stay.

Recently we spent a few days vacationing in San Diego with a close friend of ours. Even though we don’t usually splurge on fancy hotels and definitely do not book resorts for short stays (unless they’re on a tropical island), this time was different. After spending a few months of traveling on the road we wanted to treat ourselves.

Since we had been to San Diego before, this trip was more about relaxing rather than exploring. So we did some online research and discovered the Paradise Point Resort & Spa and decided to book our stay with them.

PARADISE POINT RESORT & SPA

The Paradise Point Resort & Spa really is paradise! The resort itself is situated on 44 lush acres on its very own island aptly named Vacation Isle.

The resort made us feel as though we were back at home in tropical Queensland (Australia for those of you who don't know where Queensland is).

Paradise Point Resort & Spa Review

We were pleasantly surprised to learn there were five swimming pools on the resort property. There is the popular main pool which is centrally located and offers a seasonal bar, an adults only lagoon pool, another lagoon pool with fire pits located beside it plus two other pools one of which features a cascading waterfall.

Basically what I am saying is that at the right time of the day you are bound to find one pool where you will be able to spend alone time with your significant other if this happens to be a romantic retreat for you.

If on the other hand you are here as a family and bringing the kids, you will be happy to know the resort provides many activities for children that will keep them plenty busy. The resort offers bicycle rentals, a basketball court, and they even put on outdoor movies in the main pool area on Saturday nights for them.

This place is so beautiful, relaxing and entertaining that you probably won't want to leave the resort to go sightseeing at all!

Why Should You Stay At The Paradise Point Resort & Spa?

One of the best features of the Paradise Point Resort & Spa is its location. The resort is situated on its very own island! This means the resort has its own private beaches that you will only be sharing with other guests of the resort.

There are plenty of opportunities for water activities here and the good news is that you can rent all watercraft such as jet ski's, sail boats, speed boats or stand up paddle boards from the resort.

You will find 14 bonfire pits across their white sand beaches so even if you’re visiting in winter (not that San Diego has much of a winter) you will still have a reason to spend some time by the water.

What Do The Rooms Look Like?

Paradise Point offer a range of room types including guestrooms, suites, and bungalows. We chose to stay in a Lanai Garden guestroom which is basically a standard guestroom that comes with a patio and garden views and access.

You can see what our room, patio, and garden looked like in the photo’s below. The rooms were spacious, modern, and well-appointed.

There was enough room for a breakfast table by the sliding glass doors that lead out to the patio as well as deck chairs on the patio to enjoy the view.

The garden had a very tropical atmosphere and a beautiful Jacaranda tree in the center.

Our Honest Opinion About Staying At Paradise Point

We loved our stay at the Paradise Point Resort & Spa. Our room was nice and very clean, although I will say it was nothing special. What was a nice touch though was the patio and garden access which made our stay seem more like we were staying at our own vacation property rather than a hotel.

What you really are paying for when you stay here is the resorts location because it is truly away from the hustle of the city. If you are looking for somewhere to relax then this is the perfect place for your stay.

In addition, the resort as mentioned previously is very close to Sea World and also very close to Mission Beach and Ocean Beach.

If however you are planning to spend more time in downtown San Diego during your trip you may want to consider staying somewhere else.

This resort is perfect if you’re looking for a relaxing retreat or a romantic getaway because of the properties amenities such as the private beach access, pools, and onsite restaurant, bar and spa.
